Take You To Know Everything About Refresh Rates Of LED Display

Nov 3, 2023 | FAQ

When we talk with customers about the performance of LED displays,What you must know about the refresh rate when buying LED display? “refresh rate” is a parameter that cannot be ignored.  And the refresh rate plays an important role in LED Displays, especially indoor LED displays and events LED displays.

What is the refresh rate in LED displays?

The “refresh rate” of the LED display screen, also known as the “refresh rate”, is in Hz; the refresh rate is the number of times the display screen is repeatedly displayed by the display screen per second, and and written in Hertz (Hz), like 960Hz, 1920Hz, and 3840Hz and so on. 1920Hz means the content is repeated in 1920 times per second.

The refresh rate is a parameter indicative of the LED displays. And it is also an important indicator to characterize the stability and non-flickering of the LED video wall.

How does the refresh rate affect the LED displays performance?

Two common refresh rates for LED displays are 1920hz regular refresh and 3840HZ high refresh.

  • The refresh rate is the speed at which the screen is refreshed. A low refresh rate will cause the image to flicker and shake.
  • Flickering and jitter cause visual fatigue, and long-term viewing will cause eye fatigue.
  • The higher the refresh rate, the less damage to the eyes.
  • At the same time, high refresh rate can ensure the photo effect of mobile phone or camera and reduce the phenomenon of water ripples for venues with photo requirements.

Why do we recommend higher refresh rate for indoor LED displays and events LED displays?

1.More comfortable for watching.

With higher refresh rate, we can have a better viewing experience without uncomfortable eyes while watching for a long time. It is eye-friendly for indoor close watching.

2.Reduce the phenomenon of water ripples.

When you use your phone or DV device to record videos/images from the LED display, you will notice obvious water ripples in your phone or DV because it is low refresh rate. With higher refresh rate, it will reduce the phenomenon of water ripples and it will be as smooth as a mirror. We cannot see water ripples from our eyes. This only happens when using phone or DV/DC to shoot photos or videos from LED displays.
